President’s Letter October 2024

Dear NAAMA Members, Supporters, and Friends,
As we reflect on the remarkable efforts and contributions of the NAAMA community, I am truly inspired by the impact we continue to make in the face of extraordinary challenges. Our collective resolve has enabled us to drive local outreach initiatives, global humanitarian missions, and educational programs, creating a significant impact across multiple fronts. A key example this year has been our support for Palestinian students and healthcare providers, empowering the next generation of medical professionals to serve their communities. These efforts, combined with our ongoing humanitarian aid, demonstrate NAAMA’s unwavering commitment to improving lives, strengthening communities, and rebuilding critical healthcare infrastructure where it is needed most.
Palestinian Student Scholarship Program
In our continued effort to support aspiring Palestinian medical professionals, NAAMA has proudly facilitated scholarships for a total of 192 students. These scholarships provide much-needed financial relief, allowing students to focus on their studies and pursue their dreams of becoming healthcare providers. Here is a breakdown of the scholarship distribution:

•Ibn Sina University, Cairo: 7 students
•Ein Shams Medical School: 10 students
•Mansoura University: 1 student
•Al-Azhar University, Gaza: 55 sixth-year medical students

Humanitarian Aid and Medical Supplies
NAAMA’s commitment to humanitarian aid remains steadfast. This year, we successfully delivered $850,000 worth of medical supplies to Gaza, addressing the dire shortages in hospitals and clinics. These supplies are essential in ensuring that healthcare workers can continue providing life-saving care in challenging conditions. We also distributed 120,000 pieces of clothing and shoes to provide comfort and dignity to families in need. These efforts reflect our mission to provide immediate relief and long-term support to those affected by hardship.
Lebanon Relief Campaign
In light of the ongoing catastrophe in Lebanon, NAAMA is continuing its Lebanon Relief Campaign, where we are actively collecting funds to provide critical medical and humanitarian aid. Working in collaboration with the Lebanese Red Cross, we are focused on delivering essential medical supplies, supporting emergency healthcare services, and assisting communities devastated by the crisis. Our partnership ensures that aid reaches those most in need, and with your continued support, we can further extend our impact.
Looking Ahead
While we are proud of these accomplishments, there is still much work to be done. The healthcare challenges facing Palestine, Lebanon and many other regions remain vast, and NAAMA is committed to continuing our efforts to provide scholarships, supplies, and advocacy for all underserved communities in need. The road ahead is long, but with your support, we will rise to meet the needs of the communities we serve. I encourage each of you to stay engaged, spread the word, and support these life-changing initiatives.
On behalf of NAAMA, I extend my deepest gratitude to all our members, donors, and volunteers. Your dedication and compassion are the driving forces behind these achievements. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of so many, and for that, we should all be proud.
Sincerely, Dr. Mahmoud Aqel President, NAAMA
