34th NAAMA International Medical Convention, Empowering Global Collaboration
Dear NAAMA Members,

We are just days away from the 34th NAAMA International Medical Convention, Empowering Global Collaboration, taking place July 3–5, 2025, at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. This landmark event in our organization’s history features a dynamic scientific program, distinguished speakers, and global participation—promising to be one of NAAMA’s most impactful gatherings yet.
But the momentum doesn’t stop there.

We’re actively preparing for our 47th National ConventionThe Power of Our Past, the Promise of Our Future: Medicine, Culture, and Advocacy, taking place October 10–13, 2025, at the Park Hyatt in Washington, D.C. Planning is well underway, and we will be announcing full details and launching the event website very soon. Stay tuned!

In alignment with NAAMA’s expanding humanitarian mission, we’ve launched the Rehabilitation of the Healthcare System in Syria—a new initiative aimed at supporting the recovery of Syria’s war-ravaged medical infrastructure. This campaign joins our ongoing efforts in Gaza and Lebanon, strengthening our commitment to health equity and post-crisis rebuilding across the Arab world.

In the spirit of our postponed War and Recovery conference, NAAMA is collaborating with the Global Health & Relief Initiative (GHRI) to produce a compelling new podcast series. These episodes will educate, inspire, and connect our community through stories of humanitarian impact, advocacy, and resilience.

We’ve also published a vital new resource on our website: the Arab and Muslim American Health Policy Brief and Cultural Competency Guidelines. This guide serves as a timely tool for healthcare institutions and public agencies working to deliver more inclusive and effective care. Your feedback and contributions to this living project are most welcome.

We’re proud to recognize Dr. Tamam Mohamad, President of the Michigan Chapter, as our Top Recruiter for Membership in the last quarter. His leadership and outreach exemplify the spirit of NAAMA. We also extend our appreciation to Dr. Chadi Calargi, President of the Houston Chapter, under whose guidance it has become the largest NAAMA chapter in the country. Congratulations to both leaders for their outstanding service and dedication.

Renewing your NAAMA membership keeps you connected, strengthens our community, and supports vital initiatives—such as medical missions, scholarships, mentorships, and advocacy for Arab American health equity. Membership also provides access to exclusive events, CME opportunities, and leadership roles within NAAMA.

Warm regards,
Raed Al-Naser, MD
President, NAAMA
