The annual IbnSina Scholarship fundraiser is a team effort between NAAMA NextGen and WSUSOM. This year’s event took place on September 15th, 2022. It was a wonderful evening where the members of our community connected and socialized with each other. 

Dr Rouba Ali-Fehmi has been leading this event for the past 5 years. Over these years, NAAMA NextGen has demonstrated exponential growth and success and has ably supported the IbnSina initiative. “Our youth are our future leaders”, Dr Ali-Fehmi said in her speech. 

This year’s fundraiser was a great success, with over 150 attendees. The event included a meet & greet with the WSUSOM Dean, Dr Wael Sakr & the WSU senior leadership. We raised $50,000. 50% of the  proceeds go to two WSU Arab American medical student, who are selected by the WSU scholarship committee based on financial and merit factors in addition to involvement in the community through NAAMA. The remaining 50% goes towards funding NAAMA NextGen activities.

Congratulations to this year’s Ibn Sina scholarship recepients are Marwa Harp and Hazem Alata.
