A message from the President

Dear NAAMA Members,

As we come to the end of year 2023, I reflect on the events that have unfolded throughout this year. It has been a year filled with challenges and sadness. However, among the difficulties, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the incredible work done by our members.

First and foremost, I would like to congratulate our members for organizing and conducting an outstanding national meeting in San Diego. It was truly a testament to the dedication and passion of our youth members. Thank you for your hard work and commitment to advancing our mission.

Unfortunately, due to the catastrophic events that have occurred in Gaza, we have had to postpone our international meeting. We rescheduled it for end of June 2024 in Egypt. We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you updated on any developments.

I want to express my deepest appreciation to the NAAMA foundation. Thanks to your support, we were able to provide assistance to those affected by the earthquake disasters in Syria/Turkey, and Morocco. We also extended a helping hand to the people of Libya during the devastating flooding. Your contributions have made a significant difference in the lives of those affected, and we are grateful for your generosity.

As a medical organization, we are committed to helping those in need. Currently, we are fully involved in aiding the people of Gaza who are facing an inhumane and unheard-of racial cleansing. It is disheartening to witness such violations of humanity without any significant intervention from the international community. However, we will not stand idly by. Through collaboration with other organizations, we are actively working to provide immediate, intermediate and long term comprehensive medical assistance to the health system in Gaza. NAAMA is going to be one of the leading organizers of the “Conference for Rebuilding Gaza Health Sector”. The first meeting of this important international collaboration will take place in Amman on February 7, 2024.

In addition to our disaster relief efforts, we have also focused on advancing healthcare and education in Arab American communities. Our scholarship program has supported numerous deserving students in pursuing their dreams in the medical field. We are proud to have played a role in shaping the future of healthcare professionals.

As we approach the end of the year, let us reflect on the challenges we have faced and the victories we have achieved. It is through unity and perseverance that we have been able to overcome obstacles. I am confident that the coming year will bring even more opportunities for us to make a positive impact on the lives of those we serve.

In conclusion, I want to express my sincere gratitude to each and every one of you for your unwavering support and dedication to NAAMA’s mission. Together, we have made a difference in the lives of countless individuals, and I am proud to have served as your national president.

As my term comes to a close, I want to wish you all a joyous holiday season and a prosperous new year. May we continue to work together towards a healthier and brighter future for all.

Warm regards,

Nahidh Hasaniya, MD, PhD
