A Message from The President

Greetings NAAMA Members,

We are beginning another amazing year with the National Arab American Medical Association (NAAMA) in 2023. It’s an honor and a privilege to be part of an organization that represents the voice of all Arab American healthcare professionals. As the newly elected NAAMA National President for 2023, I am very excited to be stepping into this leadership role in support of our national community.

With the support of my current Board of Directors, the Foundation Board of Trustees, and your membership, we will work on continuing NAAMA’s mission. Through educational, philanthropic and service activities, NAAMA will promote professional development and cultural identity of the healthcare professional from the Arab world.

This year, our focus and support will continue in developing NAAMA’s NextGen chapter. It is imperative for us to support and empower the young generation of Arab American healthcare students and professionals.

As I take on this role, I would like to thank our outgoing President, Dr. Imad Sabbagh, for the excellent work and his significant contributions on behalf of NAAMA. Further, I am very grateful to all past presidents of NAAMA, especially, Dr. Imad Shbeeb, for working with me as a team to ensure the best success for our foundation.

We know we are not alone on this journey as we work in partnership with all of our local chapters, our members, and all those who share our mission and vision. We are profoundly grateful for all your involvement with NAAMA. We thank those who support, fund and donate to this important work. Your support and donations are truly appreciated. I invite you to share your ideas, thoughts and feedback with us. I look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at our upcoming national conference in San Diego on Labor Day weekend and at the international conference in Egypt in December, 2023.

Sincerely,

Nahidh Hasaniya, MD, PhD, FACS, FACC, FCCP
